Throughout the Ancient Greek World, the word ‘Pithos’ (Πίθος), was used to describe an earthenware jar used for holding and storing food. Worthy of its name, Pithos a la carte restaurant is a storing place for the genuine gastronomy of Crete.
Our philosophy is based on the authenticity of our supplies, some of which are grown at the Creta Maris organic field, while the rest come from local businesses/producers, certified for growing and distributing products of organic farming.
Thus, the Bio Hellas Institute has awarded Pithos with the ‘Bio-Kouzina Gold’ certification, for offering at least 90% of organic dishes on its menu.
